WARNING: beware (excessive) free radicals!
Quick chemistry reminder: your body is a huge collection of atoms. Like a mini solar system, atoms have tiny electrons orbiting them at all times. In a stable, normal situation, these electrons come in pairs.
Sometimes, however, this electron “pairing” is broken, leading to unstable atoms known as free radicals. Although a certain amount of free radical activity in the body is normal, too much can be a bad thing. External factors can cause excessive levels of free radical activity which, over time, can cause serious damage to your skin. These external factors include:
- Pollution: smog, dust, smoke, etc.
- Cleaners: household and other cleaners
- Farming pesticides found in your food
- UV exposure
This damage, also known as “oxidative stress”, can manifest in wrinkles and fine lines, sagging, dryness, dullness and hyperpigmentation like age spots. Thankfully, we can help our body regulate free radicals through antioxidants.
Antioxidants are your #1 defendor
As you might expect, “antioxidants” are substances that help to combat oxidative stress by locating and neutralizing free radicals. While our cells naturally produce some antioxidants, it’s difficult for our bodies to keep up with the extreme environments found in 21st century life.
Luckily, we can supplement our body’s natural antioxidants by consuming certain vitamins and nutrients from external sources. Some common daily sources of antioxidants include leafy vegetables, fruit like raspberries and blueberries, dark chocolate and coffee.
One of the most effective and versatilite antioxidants is “glutathione”.
Glutathione is a natural and safe antioxidant — produced naturally by you!
Glutathione is naturally produced in the human liver and involved in many of our body’s core processes. Amongst its many benefits — which include immune support, tissue building, and protein production — Glutathione is an ultra-potent, free radical-fighting antioxidant that can prevent and repair skin damage caused by harmful environmental pollutants.
Glutathione also has “anti-melanogenic” properties and is clinically shown to
- Lighten skin tone
- Fade scars and UV (dark) spots
- Smoothen-out wrinkles
- Promote skin elasticity
If considering glutathione supplementation, Ultrabright by THE APRILAB is a potent and portable blend of high purity Glutathione and Vitamin C to consider.
